Mobile Broadband but which one??

    Hi All,


    I am living here in Portlaoise town and wanted some advice on which mobile broadband is the most reliable and with good download speeds.

    It depends on how many customers that O2, Meteor, Vodaphone or 3 has on same Mast as you would use.

    O2 or Meteor may be better if they have 3G/HSDPA coverage there as they can degrade to 240Kbps EDGE. 3 has only 3G/HSDPA and Vodaphone drops to 60kbps GPRS.

    HSDPA itself is up to 3.6Mbps or 7.2Mbps with perfect signal and no other users dropping to 0.15Mbps or less with 20 users and/or poor signal.


    Unless you need Mobility, DSL or Fixed wireless is far far better and same price.

    If you want to use this for on-line games or VoIP forget it, if you want it for web browsing, e-mail and the odd bit of downloading then its fine.

    As for finding the best its really down to trailing them, the likes of O2 give a trial period (or atleast they used to), best check their websites for latest info
