Is it possible to connect to laptops together wirelessly without a wireless router.

I know its quite easy with a cross over ethernet cable or with a wireless router but what are the options of connecting wirelessly without a rotuer

If you look under Wireless Networks Connections, does one laptop see the other? "unsecured computer to computer network"

    Check this page http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc505887.aspx
Look for "Configuring Wireless Ad Hoc Network Connections"
