Economic madness

Well it seems like good old Ireland is going down the tubes. I personally have spent a good lot of time in London and Germany and made good money in both countries whereas the celtic tiger or whatever u call it has done f**k all for me and a lot of other people like me. Now that lots of Irish people including myself have been laid off it seems like total madness that we opened up our borders so easy in 2004. I do not see any benefits of seeing God knows how many Poles etc coming through and now that the economy is going downwards they are still here, many are claiming Irish dole money or going back home and claiming Irish dole money there. We have lost Dell to Poland and now they have the cheekiness of putting signs of their building sites advising "No Irish allowed". That is gratitute for you.

As for 2.35bn spent on so called refugees (welfare scrougers for the most part) since the last election, no wonder the government is in trouble. The Irish government should do more to help Irish people who have just lost their jobs then people who come from countries like Nigeria who are just interested in having another baby and having a good life (there are some who actuelly do work) In no way is this meant to be racist as I do have black friends in London and Germany and they know what I mean.

So you don't see the blatant hypocrisy of having worked in other countries yourself but moaning about others doing just that in Ireland then?

Actuelly no. I went over by choice and because I was wanted in both countries and came back by choice to Ireland. I did not need to go over to either of the countries and I am only sorry that I came back from Germany to this sick country. What I have put on my original thread if you cared to read is the economic stupidity of the Irish government not thinking long term about the cause of immigration and now not knowing what to do when the situation has got bad.

Now we all could be paying thousands for the privalage of living in our own homes for **** sake, good point made last night on questions and answers with puplic servants expected to take 20% or more pay cuts a member of the ordiance asked why our leader cowan is earning 20k more than the uks brown and the rest of the cabinet including opposition is earning more with all their perks etc than the german and uk politicians, its about time pressure was put to force savings from the top with our ministers so as we all share the pain going forward, abet there woint be much pain for the ministers no matter what decrease in there expensis they incur.

Mé féin'ism. That's why we use GDP.

In 2004 we had labour shortages.
I do not see any benefits of seeing God knows how many Poles etc coming through and now that the economy is going downwards they are still here
    They're leaving.
many are claiming Irish dole money or going back home and claiming Irish dole money there.
Very few are claiming dole, but if they are, they have been working in this country for at least two years and are entitled to it. If they go back to Poland and still claim dole they are breaking the law, and "closing" our borders is not going to stop that.
We have lost Dell to Poland and now they have the cheekiness of putting signs of their building sites advising "No Irish allowed". That is gratitute for you.
Do you think that's a government policy or something? Poland is a nation of 40m people. Of course you're going to find some racist prats, just like you will even on this forum.
As for 2.35bn spent on so called refugees (welfare scrougers for the most part)
You think we've spent €2.35bn on refugees in the past year? Link? As for the "scroungers" claim, baseless assumptions really aren't allowed here.
no wonder the government is in trouble.
Do you suggest we don't live up to our international obligations in dealing with refugees?
The Irish government should do more to help Irish people who have just lost their jobs then people who come from countries like Nigeria who are just interested in having another baby and having a good life (there are some who actuelly do work)
The Department of Family and Social Affairs' budget is €20bn.
In no way is this meant to be racist as I do have black friends in London and Germany and they know what I mean.
It may not mean to be racist, but it's completely xenophobic and is essentially a rant. If you want to talk about the economics of labour migration then fine, but it has to look something like the opposite of this thread.
