    http://www.goal.com/en/news/724/premier-league/2009/01/13/1058132/report-cristiano-ronaldo-has-agreed-to-join-real-madrid

Will be interesting to see what Mr Balague says later
It seemed almost inevitable that the Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid rumours would resurface should the Portuguese winger win the FIFA World Player of the Year award, and it has taken only a few hours for tongues to start wagging.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims, on his website, that the Manchester United star's agent Jorge Mendes has come to an agreement with Real president Ramon Calderon that Ronaldo will complete the switch this summer.

Earlier reports had stated that a similar agreement had been set-up with Florentino Perez, which he would use to re-gain his presidency at the Bernabeu.

However, it is instead with Calderon that a deal has been struck, allowing the Portuguese international to tell a press conference before the FIFA ceremony: "My agent does not have an agreement with Florentino Pérez."

It is claimed that the player's form, scoring ten goals in 25 games this season, coupled with his body language has suggested he is not entirely happy at Old Trafford.

While it is reported that the falling value of the sterling against the Euro has increased the likelihood that a transfer fee can be agreed, it is also stated that Sir Alex Ferguson will have the final say and may well refuse to sanction any deal.

But Los Merengues are so confident that the move will go ahead that they have decided to scrap plans to sign Wigan Athletic's Luis Antonio Valencia to save funds.

Apparently, Balague has "access to the details of the agreement, including the financial terms," which he will reveal later today.

well he previously stated, like a week ago, that he had no deal with Madrid and that anyone who said otherwise was a liar.

how is this "Exclusive" news ??

everyone and their grandmother knows that Real Madrid are after Ronaldo - and fingers crossed they'll pay for the "winker" during this transfer window and kill off united's challenge and all the fantasy footy teams dependent on him.

More bull. Even if he does have intentions of leaving his agent would have no deal in place. Just maybe letting Calderon know he's interested. Means feck all though right now and not exactly a major shock!
