Hi - Does anyone have experience or input in the benefits of using an online entry service (run ireland for example) for road races.

    Thanks in advance

usually saves me about €5 per race and makes race day or week a bit easier in regards number pickup.

    Thanks Shels,
I think I put my question across ambiguously: My club are organising a race and I'm wondering if anyone has experience of using a online registration service for a race they were organising.

    ah ok i see :) .

From talking to some people who are runing races, the online entry gets a lot of early entries for their races, I know Rahney are using it this year maybe have a talk to someone in one of the clubs and see what they think.

Generally speaking, you will almost certainly get more entries - and will get them earlier, than relying on postal entries and walk-ups on the day. Most runners are now expecting an online entry facility.

In a previous life I used the Runners World UK service. Excellent efficiency for a small service charge. I've no experience of the Irish providers but runireland seems to be the market leader. Never any problems with them from a runner's perspective.

I'm sure they would quickly give you details.

    Runireland are great!
    Ok OK.
It should be obvious from my sig that I'm involved with runireland.com.
We have plenty of work to do, but Seb, the main man, puts his heart and soul into the job, and leaves no stone unturned.
Which usually means plagueing me for odd requests.
"They want WHAT on the entry form? What the f**** for?" being my initial response.

Anyway, I'll stay out of this for now, let people who have used runireland, either as race organiser or end user, have their say.
    Alan
