Accommodation

Sorry if there are threads about this already, but I've just a few questions.

When is it open to apply for accommodation in, say, Trinity Hall? Is it sometime after results are released and you have a confirmed place, or can you apply anytime you like?

Also, is it true that first-years can't get accommodation on campus? I think I read it somewhere on the website, but, I can't find where abouts again.

    Thanks for the replies.

You apply for accommodation right after you're accepted, afaik.

Campus accomodation is essentially reserved for final years, though some lucky people get in earlier. The earliest I've ever heard of anyone getting in was in SF (second year), and that was because they were part of the Scéim Gaeilge.

What about Schols??? or is that in Goldsmith Hall?

Yes Scholars get free accomodation in third-year, but most of them are sent to Goldsmith Hall (above the JCR) then. So you might be looking at about 50-100 non-final year students living on campus proper.
