I got 2 genuine sandisk 8GB class 4 cards. I think I formatted them when I got them and they seemed OK, menu was slow but I knew no better. Then I got a genuine chinese 8GB kingston class and it was slow too, again I think I formatted. Then I got jap class 4 8GB kingstons, and they were really fast at scrolling down through games, but I did not format them.

I had one of these from the same shop that I was using for linux stuff so had to format, and it is slow again! I am almost sure this was fast. I am formatting to FAT32 which is what they come formatted to.

I am going to try formatting to normal FAT. The cards have the same V1.15 on them, similar games, and used in the same DS and DSTT.

I formatted using both windows explorer and a special HP USB disk formatting tool.
