Sky Question

A friend of mine has Sky in his house, he used to have a second box in the kitchen which he was using to get free to air channels.

He has a fairly new TV, i was wondering would the cable feed work into a Tv from a sky sat? or does the box need to decode channels whether they are freeview or not,

He has been quoted a price for a box to do what he was doing before, and it seemed a little expensive.

TV won't be able to tune satellite channels (unless it's a new Panasonic Freesat TV), so he'll need the box as before.

All he needs is a box on its own. Plenty of retailers about selling boxes on their own. Then he takes it home and tunes it up. A Freesat/Sat4Free (or indeed a Skybox) box will tune itself.

Check sticky thread at top of page for shops selling satellite equipment.

Thanks, i was thinking that - i know its not a brand new tv so it wont be able to,

Im over and back to the UK a lot, and the freeview set-up is great over there - if you have a tv that can get it,

will take a look at that sticky, thanks again

You'd get a Freesat box (similar to Freeview but for satellite) in UK cheap enough.
