I’m involved with a local club and we are holding a road race on February 1st. I am just wondering
1 What are the procedures that I must follow to get Garda assistance for that day in question.
2 Who must one contact.

If there are any members of the force who can shed a light on this it would be very much appreciated.
I have being trying to do this now for many years but never seem to be successful with getting assistance.

I have gone down the road of contacting the Supt. He passes it to Sgt I/C and then he passes it to Traffic Corps, and I get no one on the day.

I think your username is highly suspicous considering your question.

Oh and I have no idea but putting the details and your request in writing would be a good start

If you are planning a 10k road race, I presume you will have the permission of the local authority to run such an event. Or will competitors be stopping at pedestrian crossings and waiting for the green man before continuing?

If you have such permission, I would not imagine that you would have too many problems with Garda assistance, although you would undoubtedly be required to supply your own stewards as well.

we hold about 40 races through out the year we have permission from AAI and our insures thats all one needs and yes the route is well stewarded ove 60 stewards throught the 10 Mile rouote

60? That's loads! I did a triathlon a while ago - I saw 8 stewards over the cycle/run!

we have every junction covered with two stewards as it ensures that some one is there through out the rance as it passes
