    Thanks in advance!

If it's Belfield you're talking about, then I'd imagine it's 400m like every other athletics track.

Yes this is a official standard 400m track and has been verified before hosting a number of the college outdoors in the past. good track for distance however in need of resurfacing and has been left by the college for a while now

The last college development plan had the current track being replaced (I think with multi-storey car parking) and a new one being built up near the sports centre. With the financial situation, that's unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Heard this to however if they do replace the old one with the current investment being put into the Gateway project and the new centre with swimming pool and other facilities that have all ready begun i do not see any possibilty of new one being built with these projects and the culmination with the financial situation

    hi

This may be a silly question but i was wondering is the track open to the public.

I was thinking of heading down tomorrow night about 8 for a few laps.

Does anyone know if you have to be a ucd student or anything like that to use.

I dont want to go down there and find out that i cant use it.

    Thanks in advance

Not really the only thing is i know DSD train there some evenings just check into that because they dont take kindly to people on track while they training whether you UCD student or not

Nothing worse than a jogger in your way when your trying to train on a track. If you need to jog, jog on teh grass as it's easier on the legs and isn't the same repetitive lapping. I've been down there with people walking their damned dogs on the track, with their kids on their bikes and not to mention nearly once being killed by a guy throwing the hammer!

i have no problem with them using the track as long as they dont interfere with the more serious training. however i do agree with you there nothing worse than these people abusing the facilities but sure jogging on the outside of the track is a atleast track being put to its proper use
