I'm looking to get a book on football. Has anyone read any good books that they recommend?

    Books I recommend are:

The Blind Side: This is an excellant book about Michael Oher the LT from OleMiss and the evolution of the LT position. Probably the best book I have ever read after the author's other book on baseball, Moneyball.

Next Man Up: It follows the Ravens team around a whole season.

Patriot Reign: Follows Belichick and the Patriots around for a season

"You're ok, it's just a bruise is fairly good", almost all the doctor scenes in Any Given Sunday are taken from it

LT's autobiography is good too, for the off field stuff as much as anything!!

I was over in Seattle for the Eagles game in Nov and in the airport on the way home i decided to do a bit of book shopping, bought the following:

Rich Eisen-Total Access: The Nfl network presenter gives us a behind the scenes look at following the Nfl around the country, from combine to pro-bowl. Interesting book, some good stories in it, he really does have a great job.

Tom Coughlin-A Team To Believe In: Post SuperBowl autobiography, once again an interesting book but nothing too mind blowing revealed. Still worth a read though for any Nfl enthusiast.

Then Zorn Said To Largent-The Greatest Seattle Seahawks Stories Ever Told: As you can probably guess its full of anicdotes and stories all about the Hawks from '76 to the present day. Probably only for Seahawks fans but then i don't know what you people would like to read!

If anyone here would like to borrow these books in exchange for others or something(as american football books are near impossible to get here in Ireland) pm me and we'll try to arrange something.

Friday Night Lights has to be in there.

Rich Eisen's book is thoroughly readable too. Can't remember the name of it but the one by the guy who spends a season with the Baltimore Ravens is good too.

    That's Next Man Up.
Friday Night Lights has dated somewhat but is still a cracking read
