    Hello all

I've been lurking on here for while, but after going for my first ride on my new bike yesterday I though it was about time to introduce myself :)

After lots of indecisive wondering and reading on here, I eventually went for the cheapest of the cheap, the entry level Beone road bike which CRC sell so cheap. My reasoning was that in a year's time I'll either be addicted (in which case I'll be prepared to spend lots more money on something new) or the bike'll be gathering dust (in which case I won't have wasted too much money).

I bought it before christmas, but due to a faulty stem / CRC being closed / christmas post / the replacement stem not fitting, I didn't get to go out til yesterday. Just went for a nice slow 10km loop to see how the gears and everything were. Windy and rainy, but great fun to be back on the bike!

Anyway, it'll be a while before I build up the fitness to tag along on any spins, in the mean time I'll occupy myself with badgering you all with newbie questions and avoiding the ice...

It'll be sooner than you think. I got my 1st bike last June and within a few months I did my 1st 100km. I would have done it quicker if I could've gotten out more often.

No one on this forum has any self control when it comes to bikes.

he's right you know, I just splashed out €60 on a pair of Bontrager race lite Hard case tyres from my LBS, everywhere, and I mean everywhere seems to be out of Gatorskins. Need the tyres urgently, and they were the best I could get at such short notice

Have you been talking to my wife -- you have similar words. Say hi if you talk to her again :)
