Looking for headphones that are so tight they squash your brain cells, has anyone any suggestions? They are for recording of course and I don't want to spend more than €200/€250, cheers.

No, but they look like the kind of thing I am after, can you get them in Dublin or is it an online credit card affair? Nice one by the way they got some great reviews from what I have just read.

Sennheiser HD 280 Pros are the ones that have the most attenuation 26dB as I recall probably at 1k ....

Even more that those drum ones you see advertised.

Beyer DT 770 M's are nice I was using some today. Solid as DT 100's but much more comfortable and better sounding. Loads of rejection (35 dBA Isolation) and good bass for a closed back headphone. A bit good cheaper I'd go for Audio Technica ATH 40's, they are long lasting and sound pretty good. I wouldn't use them for mixing, I would the DT 770's.

Sound Dave, I got a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 pro and they are really tight, I am loving it, finally quietness!

Audio Technica ATH 50 are what i use

top end is a touch dull in them , but that may be my crap hearing .

mid and low is very good

they sound surprisingly like my focal solos bar the top end , so im happy with that .

i also use the ER 4 p to see what ipod users would hear , and i am tending to mix with these in mind cos most people listen to music on things like these nowdays .
