    Hi all,
I have been trying to apply for jobseekers benefit for a while now, I have been out of work since Dec 19th. I have presented the welfare office with all they need to see except a p45 which i am still waiting on.
Its been quite a while since I had any income so I was wondering do you think there is anything I could give them instead?

Also, when I do get the p45 will I get back pay? and how soon after I give them the p45 will I be able to receive jobseekers benefit?
There is alot/too many questions there so any help with any of them would be much appreciated

If you cant get your P45 yet see if your ex-employer can give you a letter confirming when you finished.

It'll be backdated to whenever you made the claim, if you want it backdated longer, you have to apply.

How long it takes is really just down to how busy the office is, though if its just a P45 their waiting it should be done quick enough, they might be able to give you an idea when you drop it in.
