    Hey Guys,

I am thinking of trying out a duathlon or sprint triathlon so i have two questions...

    1) Are there any duathlons during the summer months? Preferably towards the end of August?

    2) Are there many sprint triathlons with the swim in the pool? Also towards the end of the summer?

    Thanks

    Dan

    North Tipp Sprint 19th April
    Joey Hannon Sprint 3rd May

Both pool swims. The Nenagh one is 500m and I'm not sure about The Joey, 500 or 750 I think.

    1) One maybe two. Duathlins tend to be at the start of the season
    2) Nope. None I think. Pool swims again are at the start of the season.

Dublin series looks to be back with a slight change to the August one, I haven't done the 'Formula 1' format before but 4 transitions should be interesting. (http://www.dublintri.com/duathlon.html ) these are a great way to spend a summers evening (under a tree avoiding the rain before the start:). All levels compete from the likes of me who are just happy to cross the finishing line and the elite guys who make you feel you found a reverse gear on your bike as they pass you out. All bike types are uses as well so need need to spash out on an expensive tri/road bike if youa are just dipping your toe into the sport to see if you want to progress to a full tri.

I think Lisburn is pool based swim? It's July 26th according to the TI website. That might be the latest you'll get in a pool.

The Duathlons in the park run all summer do they not? If I remember correctly last summer there was one a month from May to August. Check the TI website for dates on these & possibly others...

Should have also mentioned... the Fingal Sprint in the National Aquatic Centre is on May 17th & is also pool based.
