I'm fairly awful at excel. How does one go about learning the more advanced accounting-specific functions? Any suggestions on online courses or night-class in town for a few weeks??

The is a very good book called Advanced Excel for Accountants that is available from the libraries. It is a few years old now but still very relevant.

The ICAI run a number of courses in excel for beginners, advanced and intermediate. Best way to learn though is by doing.

Hi, I work as an accounts assistant but I got a new job whereby I need to have pretty good excel skills (and mine are basic!!). I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone offering excel classes/grinds in Dublin city? I can't do the course offered by ICAI as they are on a week day and can't get time off work!

+1 for this book, a bit dated now but it'll give you an excellent foundation and is an easy read.
