I turned on my computer about an hour ago to be greeted with a message telling me that my profile on Windows XP has been corrupted. I've relatively no hope but is there any way i can get my college stuff off it? :(

    thanks

When you boot into windows it should create you a temp account. When you get into this temp account create a new one. If you go to C:\Documents and Settings\ you should be able to see a folder with your old username. In this folder is everything from your old account.

that happened to a friend's compute once. i loaded the recovery console and ran chkdsk /r and it found and fixed the corruption. yours might be a different type of corruption of course
