    how would i set one up
    i'm just curious to try the windows 7 beta and some people are sayin they are doin it in vm
    btw i have vista ultimate

    do i just make a new partition on the hd and do install from there

    Easiest thing to do is to install VirtualBox. It's free and downloadable.

    Create a new Virtual Machine, and tell it to mount the ISO for the Windows 7 install disk you have. That's about it, but be aware that you won't get 100% of the power of your PC reflected in whatever is running in the VM.

    installation is nearly done on my vmware.
    looking good so far.

    im using vmware - check out www.vmware.com/freedownload/ seems you can get a free serial to check it out, dont know for how long though

    VMWare player is free, though you've to do a bit of hacking if you want to get VMTools set up inside it.

    The free solutions are VirtualBox and VMWare Server. Make sure you've enough RAM: 2 GB minimum because this will be shared between your current OS and Windows 7. Create a virtual hard disk inside the virtualisation program. You'll be walked though it. Just be sure to specify you're installed Vista if asked.
