Team Columbia Team Launch

Interesting to see that Team Columbia are still using the 'High Road' branding which is the teams 'owner/business name' as such and not an actual paying sponsor.

I wonder how other Pro Tour team sponsors feel paying top whack for names on jerseys when the 'High Road' logo can line up beside them but they don't actually promote anything eg sponsor's products etc.

Afaik (and I'm not 100%) High Road do provide sponsorship for the team (the full name is Columbia/High Road), so in my mind they're entitled to have their name on the jerseys (personally, I think Bob Stapleton deserves it anyway as he rescued and turned around a team in the doldrums)

The new jersey is skanky. The Fuji-Servetto one might be nice.

Looks like a box of spearmint chewing gum.

I also liked the old Columbia jersey, dunno bout that "6-pack" design on the new one. Reminds me of these Doctors who did the wicklow 200 last year wearing a weird brown kit with the vascular system all over it. I think it was for charity. Good cause I'm sure, terrible kit.

We've got the six pack design on our club jerseys. Not a fan of it.

The Columbia kit is weird. It's a bit like the old Saunier Duval kit, which is funny because they're riding Scott bikes this year and the bikes seem to be the same colours as when they were sponsoring Saunier Duval. Much preferred the old blue kit.

The High Road logo is where a secondary sponsor usually goes. T-Mobile pulled out of their sponsorship early and Stapleton was left with enough money to keep the team going for two years. That's why they can afford to whack the High Road logo on the kit (I'm presuming). If another sponsor comes along I'm sure they won't say no though.

I see Milram decided to go with the cow print this year. I kind of suspected that they'd do that after they showed up with it (and got fined) at the Deutschland Tour.

Cervelo kit looks the best of the bunch at this stage. You can't go wrong with black I guess.

I hadn't realised that Columbia had switched to Scott!

While I don't like the jersey, I am liking the Bert Grabsch's world champion one -the little clock logo is just great. Also like this quote from Stapleton:
The white is clean, it is simple, it is new, it is fresh. It is also transparent. I think that the concern for some of our riders is when these white shorts get wet, they might be too transparent [laughs] but in the winter races we will be wearing black shorts also.
