Continuous Play on PS3

Looks like Sony are acknowledging the large number of problems reported with PS3s. They've started a new service called Continuous Play in the UK. Basically you pay five pounds a month, and in return, if your PS3 breaks down, thay'll replace it within 2 days. They also have a service for the PS2 and PSP.

Now all we need is the service to be introduced in Ireland.

    This is old news.

Someone asked is it available in ireland a month/2 ago. Search for it.

    Thats pretty cool!

Although I had my out-of-warranty 60GB PS3 replaced within 24 hours without the reciept when the drive failed, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones!

I don't think them "acknowledging" these so-called "large numbers" of problematic PS3s. Insurance for electrical goods isn't uncommon, like phone's and iPods - they have insurance which you can but at the store witht them. So why wouldn't Sony sell some piece of mind for there own products? Some people like having that piece of mind plus Sony can make money of it... i.e. when they know they won't have "large numbers" of product recalls, contrary to your post.

Also as somebody already mentioned, it's been out ages already and they had it for PS2.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

Definetly got a flyer when I bought a game for the ps3 recently, I forget which game but the flyer had Euro prices listed on it.

Bought a 2nd hand PS3 in GAME 2 weeks ago and it comes with a 1 year warranty which I feel is very generous
