Samsung 786 or 956 if you can live with the lag
Sammy 856's are nice looking and the 756 is a decent update on a 686. Having seen a 686 in the flesh yesterday they dont look like they have good build quality in the frame.
    Panny 46" Plasma (81 or 85)
    Sony W4500
    Sony Z4500
Best of all Pioneer 50" plasma (think the model is 5090)

the LX5090 seems like a nice tv

If your budget is "stretchy", then I'd strongly consider the Pioneer, it's reputed to have the best picture quality available.

If your budget doesn't go quite that far, then consider the Panasonic Z80 series in 42, 46 or 50" - I have the 42Z81B and can't fault the performance in terms of picture quality or anything else, excellent deal from Richersounds.

Hot off the presses! (after a boardie came into Belfast and told us about it before Pioneer had the decency to!)

    Pioneer KRL32 - now dropped to £699.95
    Pioneer KRL37 - now dropped to £899.95
    Pioneer KRL47 - now dropped to £899.95

    All UK pricing of course!

How come Boardies get to know everything 1st!????
