    Evening,

Got our son a DS for his birthday and have ended up using it more than him. Been trying to get Professor Leyton but can't get it so the search continues but would love some more of that type. Have practically worn out Big Brain Academy. Wasn't too fond of Brain training, don't like having to wait until the following day. No patience!!

    Any recommendations greatly received!
    :pac:

This site is good for reviews:

    http://ds.ign.com/index/reviews.html

You can select games by genre so if you are into puzzle/puzzle adventure it will list those for you.

    Happy reading :)

If you like strategy games Advanced Wars kept me going for weeks....but the cut scenes and dialogue were desperate.

Recently got Panzer Tactics and its class :) no dialogue and plenty of units to play with from the get go

    Professor Leyton is top class.

A friend is also telling me good things about Pheonix Wright Ace Attorney

Soul Bubbles is a great little game. Generally got good reviews.

+1 for ace attorney. I generally hate there type of point and click games but this is painfully addictive. I would also recommend Zelda although that can be slow in parts

Where can you buy games on line that are reasonable? I have tried buying on play.com but it won't let me deliver to a non UK address?! :o

Are you certain you changed the currency to euro in the top right corner of the screen. It wont let you order to in Ireland using the sterling price.

Yeah if you change it to Euro first on Play it should be okay.
Also since the DS is region free you can also save a few euro somtimes by ordering the american versions from play-asia.com or videogamesplus.ca. I've never gone wrong with play-asia.

I'd recommend the Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney games also. You might also check out Hotel Dusk, Another Code and Trauma Centre. And then just hold out for the next Professor Layton which is out in Japan already. Keep an eye on play-asia for the american version, it will probably come out long before the europing one (and be cheaper too!)

I've been in the same boat and could not find it anywhere, not even online apart from Amazon who are looking for ridiculous money for it. Might not be of any use but I was in Tesco Clearwater over the weekend doing a bit of shopping and chanced asking the girl at the electronics desk and they had it in stock for €44.95.

(thanks to the member who offered me a copy but it's too difficult at the moment to arrange any sory of meeting with my mates, let alone to collect a game).

Thought I'd recommend this game (N+). Got it recently and played it to death :)

The original flash version for the PC is available here and is worth checking out if you're tempted. It's a great game. Fiendishly addictive. DS version is very similar. Can't remember if it's the exact same levels as it's been years since I played the original.

Play.com say it's not out here till the 26/06 but I picked mine up on import. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by suggesting a game you can only get on import

Still think one of the best DS games available (and still criminally underrated) is Elite Beat Agents. You'll pick it up for about €20.

Game in Dundrum had loads of copies of Prof. Layton in stock on friday or saturday i think. Yeah, definitely Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, the story is so addictive. Also Trauma Centre is very good aswell

+1 that game is brilliant. When I saw the soundtrack list I thought it would be a disaster but the pure cheesiness and craziness of the game suits the music perfectly. Who would have thought an avril lavigne song could actually be good.

I'd also recommend getting Osu! Takatae! Ouendan! and it's sequel. It's the same as elite beat agents but a little bit crazier due to the japanese pop soundtrack and the first game is probably a little better than elite beat agents (apart from the unskippable cutscene before Ready! Steady! Go! Grrrrr!). You can get both from playasia.

Is that game (think its called) "Case Mystery Files: Millionheir" any good? Have a couple of vouchers for Gamestop since Christmas and I just don't know what to be getting. I might actually get "New Mario Bros", played it before and thought it was enjoyable.

Get yourself NSMB anyway, excellent game. Mystery Case is a bit weak compared to Phoenix or Professor Layton. Some of the budget games can be quite good. More Touchmaster, 42 All Time Classics and the likes are quite enjoyable and are usually between €20 and €30.

Puzzle Quest, New Mario Bros., and MarioKart are all quite good too :p

I picked up a game on the cheap recently called "Teenage Zombies" pretty good surprisingly, its a combination platform/slight puzzle game.

Only played the first 15 or so levels but the difficulty seems to be ramping up nicely now. Not bad for around E20.

I have Resident Evil DS and its good but I didnt like it. I normally play my DS when commuting and i never had time to get from one save room to the next before my journey was over. Its a shame the DS doesnt just load from where you were like the PSP does.

But if thats not an issue for you then this is a good game. same story as the original with a few unique touch screen bits thrown in as well.
