its funny the way you can listen to music that other users have in their iTunes library. Many have the same music synced to their ipods and iphones. tells a lot about what kind of people i'm living with.

Open iTunes>Look for "SHARED" on the left>Double click the user> enjoy

Its not just Halls. On the wired network I can pick up people in halls and I am on campus.
It also shares across the wireless network but I think (not sure) that the two are independent of each other.

That's awesome, I'll try tomorrow on campus. just one user's library has over 8 THOUSAND (8,461) songs - that's just crazy :cool::D - i hardly have 2 songs in my iTunes - i may forget about dab radio from now on

You do realise that you can take all of that music right?

Back a few years ago my flatmate and I were able to dowload the songs from other users libraries sing a program called myTunes.
Unfortunately subsequent editions of Itunes got rid of that loophole.

I believe it's whoever is on the router you're connected through. The ports are blocked through the routers, but you can still interact with other users on that router.

So, if you're in a particular computer room, chances are you can see everyone in that room, but nobody outside. It all depends on how the network has been architected by IS Service.

I live on campus and would LOVE to know how to do this. Unfortunately I am on Vista and I think they have made it even more difficult to do this. But I can see so many people's libraries, and I can listen to their music, I just wish I could take it! (if anyone would like to pm me instructions, I would be very happy)

    For Jimdw.
The music taken from itunes was taken using my friend's mac. Macs are on a different network to windows computers.

Fishie: I'm not too sure if it can be done on vista.. I'm guessing its's possible, but I have never bothered.

GAHH!! It is so annoying, my old method of swiping music off other people's iPods does not work on Vista. Damn Vista, making my life awkward

mp3DirectCut allows you record what your machine plays, even if you cant download. Simple and efficient to use.
