Is there such a thing as a short scope albeit that the tube size might have to increase.
in the real world there seems to be a massive amount of viewing aids that dont conform to the typical scope dimensions.
Unlike most men i am unconcerned with excessive length!! I only require it to be functional and easily stored.

I have seen high mag scopes with reticules where the overall length is less than 12cm but these scopes did not have elevation and wind age turrets, this was a total station or theodolite ,,

Any thoughts or links to such a short scope and what sort of issues might the operator find with a reduced length scope.

Sure a 10 m.o.a dot is massive. Can the shooter see through this dot??
Yes it looks like it might fit the bill except for the massive dot. Did you ever try it on a small rifle of any sort.
I take it thats its a 1x magnification

Well has anybody ever seen any quick release screws for a weaver mounted style scope.

i used it on a 177 air gun and shoots no prob with 10 moa as you can ajust the brightness of the Red dot.

i used it on a 177 air gun and shoots no prob with 10 moa as you can ajust the brightness of the Red dot.

But with the brightness turned all the way, can the shooter see through the Dot or is it solid...

That dot is going to be 5inch wide at 50 yard and 2.5 inches wide at 25 yards.
It seems so big that i can see it blocking out too much target!!

I like the idea of this red dot scopes but i think that a 4 m.o.a dot would be the largest for any rteasonable 22lr work, also i see it as being quit pointless for any 17hmr or even the machII.

Since you brought these scopes to my attention i managed to find a bushnell that has 4 reticule setting. they are as follows (i think) 4m.o.a. red dot, 8 m.o.a red dot a cross hair and a diamond or a circle.

Now that might work abit better.

ya you can see tru the red dot but maybe the bushnell would suit you better if you can change the rectile on it, think my scope would more suit a drivin Boar shoot on a 308 rifle or the like...all the best ivan
