    Hey.

I couldn't think of a title for this so I do apologize.

    I just have a question.

At the moment I am currently not working as I am looking after my dad full time. He is sick. I am not sure how long this will be for - the foreseeable future at least.

My question is, when I do return to full time work, will I have a problem. Up to now I have a very strong sales background but does that matter when I might not be returning to work for at least a year??

Given the circumstances I couldn't see any employer having a problem with such a gap in your CV.

I don't think it would be a problem. You've got a legitimate reason to be out of the workplace :( As long as you explain the gap on your CV, you should be fine. Don't forget either that there are loads of people your age who've taken a year out and are travelling the world or gone to Australia (yawn)

    +1 to the above.

Also, do you have time to do a course or two, part time or evening? It always looks good and will confirm that you haven't dropped out of the marketplace.

Doing a part time course is a great idea, it will show you're keen to keep your skills sharp and haven't lost touch.

    Hey,

    Thanks for the replies.

I am currently looking into doing a course on child psychology and photography.
