3 day week

    This is a question for 2 friends of mine.... they have been full time for many years and last week they were told it would be a 3 day week from this week.
    There is no written contract in the workplace.
    Q1 would this affect redundancy if the business where to close or be sold ?
    Q2 is there anything else they can do to ensure there full rights are being maitained.
