Was just wondering how important is a guy's skin to you? How much do you notice it? Is it a major factor of attraction?

Was just wondering because in my teenage years I had some acne and theres some marks left over that I'm very self concious of but its not extremely bad. I've never had trouble attracting girls in my life (not trying to be big headed) but any time a girl looks at me now I'm wondering if its because of my skin or because they are interested.

    Thoughts?

I wouldn't dwell on something like that - you're focussing more on it than a woman would. Be yourself, we much prefer someone who isn't too into themselves - be more interested in the girl!

It won't make the slightest bit of difference.

And if you are meeting women who dislike it, then you're meeting the wrong kind of women.

It will make no difference at all. My boyfriend is coeliac and his skin is in terrible condition a lot the time, it doesnt annoy me in the least. He is more worried about it.....probably just like you. I believe most people will not have a problem with it.....however there may be some people who do.....shallow individuals.....that you wouldnt want to be in a relationship anyway if thats all that bothers them.

I would say youre worrying over nothing. Good luck.

Both Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz had bad acne as teenagers and as a result have scars.

So, I wouldn't dwell on it really.

I have above average skin, I suppose but It hasn't helped me with the wimmin one bit:rolleyes: If you already get lots of attention, you're worrying about nothing.

No no, I didn't mean to make out I get lots of attention just that I've had a few girlfriends and am not completely terrible with women, but as I got acne and the scars left behind I'm always second guessing myself when it comes to women now.

Like when I said earlier its not extremely bad, its not but it certainly is noticeable, and was just wondering how much it would put off a woman. I'm looking for brutal honesty here lol.

Just to get a picture for people that don't know, its basically dents in your skin and I have some on my cheek and forehead.

It wouldn't bother me or anyone I know in the slightest, you're definitely worrying about it too much. Seriously, no big deal at all.

I have acne across my back which has become something of an issue with me. The last time I was with a girl it wasn't so bad but it has become more severe recently and my shoulders and upper back are horribly cratered. It's probably not worth taking the proper acne medication for it, but it's something I do think about now. Funnily enough the skin on my face and the rest of my body is perfect, so the girl I am with next will have no idea until I take my shirt off...

But I think that a sense of humour and generally trying not to worry about it too much is the right thing to do. I prefer women who are smart and good-natured and not too obsessed with their looks, and I'm pretty confident that that sort of woman wouldn't be horrified by my red marks. I believe that the rest of the posters are correct that most women react far more to your attitude and the vibe you produce than your looks. Also, Tevez is a potential role model:

"...he refused an offer from his then club, Boca Juniors, to have them cosmetically improved, saying that the scars were a part of who he was in the past and who he is today"

OP, I honestly would not be worried about it.
First of all: I have never been with a guy who had an 'unblemished body'
Second of all: I actually think Tevez was dead right there - I actually find the 'craters' as you call them (I don't mean that in a bad way) quite sexy as they do add character to someone's face - it means they are a person with a history - and usually people who had acne had oilier skin - which means that they look younger than people their age too, which is attractive. :)

I actually think there's something quite sexy about imperfect skin.

I wouldn't have thought that in my teens, but back then I thought facial hair on men was gick as well. How things change!

IMO scars are no problem at all. However if you have virulent acne, esp. in very visible spots, then that's something you should see a dermatist about.

Don't worry about it. As long as your personality, humour , intelligence and character aren't scarred you'll be fine.

To be honest everyone has things they don't like about themselves. We all have hang ups. Don't worry :D

Dont worry about it. Women are more worried about whether a guy is clean rather than expecting him to look 100% perfect.

Thats what I'm thinking aswell, like does it give women an impression of "uncleanliness"?

But yeah I've been really suprised by people's answers here and how tolerant of it they seem :) Definately makes me feel a bit more relaxed about things.

Absolutley not!! I was talking yellow hairy teeth, smelly pits, manky hair etc...

Dont worry about it. My OH has the same 'problem' with his skin and he is uber sexy :)
