I thought it would be a good idea to stick up a thread for reviewing GBB pistols. It's not uncommon for new members to post threads on "which is better" and having a thread with all info in one place might be a lot handier.,:)

Ive made some vids of the pistols i own myself and i'll do a comparison of build Quality, Recoil, Performance, Reliability etc etc...

I'm thinking this would be a good idea, if people would like to do the same and copy the format I write this one in, then we can have a discussion thread separate if needed. But this thread would be only for peoples reviews with pics or video's etc.,

    wotcha think?

    Here goes anyway,

    KWA USP Compact:
    Chrono Reading: 320fps - 325fps
Materials: ABS frame with metal slide

    Pro's:
    • Probably the best quality ABS ive seen on a USP, or any pistol really.
    • Good power as standard and doesnt loose a lot to cooldown,
    • The recoil is impressive, a lot better than the KJW version,
    • The hopup has a noticible effect and works really well unlike some other GBB's,
    • The safety is nice and solid, and comfy to hold
    • Theres an Ambidextrous Magazine release,
    • Double Stack magazine with 24rd capacity,
    • The mag follower locks at the bottom when compressed to make it easier to load the mag,

    Con's:
    • The Slide can be a bit sticky at first,
    • For such a nice gun theres no trade marks,
    • Sometimes it doesnt lock back after the last BB, I think this might be partly due to cold at the time though,
    • Spare parts aren't widely availible from what i can gather,

    Opinion:
This is quickly becoming one of my favourates, its really comfy to hold and the sights are nicely made with the white dots and all.
It's made mostly of ABS of some sort but its very good quality stuff, the slide is metal.
Comparing this to some of my other pistols, the range is above average with this one, its still very usable in cold conditions. The recoil is better than average and the cycle is fast and snappy. Its fairly simple to do the strip down process, and to do so you just pull back the slide a litte and pop out the release pin/slide catch.

Overall i would say it was the best performing out of all the pistols I tested. (note, i shot the inside of the chrono a couple of times there, thats why some of the readings look a little odd)

Overall rating: 9/10 *Would be a 10 if it had trade marks.

    KWA Glock 18c:
    Chrono Reading: 300fps - 305fps *14 Rounds per second @ 265fps
Materials: ABS frame with metal slide

    Pro's
    • Metal Slide
    • 14 rounds per second, Rate of fire ( the one with the plastic slide has a high ROF)
    • Good Recoil,
    • Fully Automatic/Semi Automatic
    • 300fps
    • As with most glocks, they can all fit in the same holsters, handy that.,:)
    • 24rd capacity,
    • The mag follower locks at the bottom when compressed to make it easier to load the mag,
    • Railed frame,

    Con's:
    • The Fire selector is a little flimsy and needs tightening and some thread lock on the retaining allen key,
    • The plastic isnt as good as the USP,
    • Its not as good on gas as the USP,

    Opinion:
This is a really popular pistol and a lot of people are attracted to it since its one of few fully automatic pistols. Its super reliable and has taken a lot of abuse over the last year since i got mine. Infact, it was once lost in a grassy area of HRTA and spent a month there, it was then driven over by a lawnmower yet was still gased and loaded ready to fire when it was found.
The ROF is pretty good on it, higher than the average AEG, however a lot of the rof is wasted with the metal slide, with the plastic slide version you'll be looking at 20-21 rps but with metal its more like 14rps.
The hopup is decent and comes with a adjustment tool to insert through the ejection port. One of the main reasons i like the glocks is the fact that they design them all with the same frame dimensions so you can use almost all glocks with the one holster, be it the fobus, serpa types etc.

    Overall Rating:
    8/10

    KWA Glock 26c:
    Chrono Reading: 300fps - 310fps *21 rounds per second @283fps
Materials: ABS frame with metal slide (also ABS slide version availible with 30rps rate of fire)

    Pro's:
    • Smaller than the G18c, comfy to hold and easier to carry than the G18c,
    • Fully Automatic with a very impressive ROF, again the plastic slide version has a much higher ROF,
    • Comes with a smaller magazine than the G17/G18c but is compatable with other glock magazines, including the 50rd high capacity magazine,
    • Another really reliable pistol and it has never given me any problems,
    • The mag follower locks at the bottom when compressed to make it easier to load the mag,

    Con's:
    • Its a bit light, even the metal slide version,
    • It has the same problem as the G18c where the fire selector can be a bit loose,
    • The ABS quality, although pretty good, isnt as good as the USP from the same manufacturer,
    • Theres no rail under the barrel like most glocks,

    Opinion:
This is a cracking little pistol and it packs a hell of a lot of fire power for its slightly "girly" looks. Its basically a G18c mechanism in a smaller frame, the smaller size and weight means it performs better than the G18 and doesnt suffer cool down as much. A few things to watch with these though is to make sure the fire selector screw is tight and stick some thread lock on it (Its located underneath the rear sight), if you don't then the selector can fall out and you'll loose the 3 pieces. god knows if you'd be able to get replacements. This is the kind of pistol I can always pick up and know its going to work every time, well worth buying.,:)

    Overall Rating:
    8/10

    KJW SIG P226
    Chrono Reading: 300fps - 310fps
Materials: Metal frame and metal slide

    Pro's:
    • Full metal build, This is probably the heaviest and sturdiest of all the pistols tested.
    • Very nice recoil,
    • It has a really distinct metalic snap to it when fired,
    Con's
    • It suffers from cooldown a lot more than any of the other pistols tested, it drops pretty fast from 310 to the 280ish mark,
    • mags are prone to leaking, altough it is a simple fix its a pain none the less,
    • It doesnt always lock back when its empty,
Loading the magazine can be a pain, the grip on the spring/follower is a little hard to hold, again this is being a bit pickey but the KWA pistols have a far better system,

    Opinion:
I like this pistol, its really heavy and solid but its not nearly as good on the cold gas as the above pistols so it probably wont be the best choice in the winter months. Mag leaks are common enough too and although they only need a drop of oil it would be a pain for someone who is new to GBB's and doesnt understand them very well.
Its also a very righthand dominant pistol with the slide release and de-cocking lever all positioned for the right thumb. The other pistols above dont feel as heavy as this but they perform better so its a bit of a trade off.

    Overall Rating:
6/10. although its great, you can never be 100% its gonna work with the weather we get,

    KJW Beretta M9
    Chrono Reading: 320fps - 325fps
Materials: Metal frame and metal slide

    Pro's:
    • Heavy Weight,
    • Strips just like the real thing,
    • Probably the most powerful of all the pistols tested,
    • compatible with real steel grips,
    • Steven Segal had one, Nuff said.....
    • Fires 320fps out of the box and even after 15ish shots its still firing up in the 300fps range,

    Con's:
    • Parts are pretty hard to come by,
    • Some models only have fixed hopup,

    Opinion:
This one is a great pistol, its very close to the real deal M9 and strips the same way. its powerful and maintains it power well even after firing most of the mag. I found with my first M9 that parts are very hard to come by, theres a few manufactures out there making the M9 and most of them are the same design, the bell version though seems to break loading muzzles a lot.
Ive also tried upgraded recoil springs and hi flow valves and it be quite honest, the original parts were better made and performed a lot better. All in all, this a a brilliant gun, lets just hope they get the finger out and probude more spare parts for them.,:)

    Overall Rating:
    9/10

So, there ya have it, thats all the pistols I use myself. If anyone would like to do a similar review on their own pistols they can post it in here with the same format,., :)

    Manufacturer/Model:
    Average Chrono reading:
    Build Material:
    Pro's:
    Con's:
    Your Own Opinion:
and you rating out of 10.

nice idea lad, maybe the mods could sticky it and make it a no discussion thread like the pictures thread, cut down on all the extra stuff people would have to sift through, keep the formay simple and easy to navigate.
