    As soon at the pirates were separated from those they were holding, it was then open season on them.

    It was only 5 that drowned out of dozens of pirates. Still fair play to the other pirates. I don't understand why the navy just didn't open fire on all the boats that the pirates were getting away in. If I rob a bank, the police aren't going to just stand by and watch me go home.

    I don't see why the authorities don't use these situation as practice for their assault/commando teams. I'm sure a well trained government military unit could easily storm these vessels, securing the hostages and dealing with the pirates.
    Whatever happened to not negotiating with terrorists (the term for anyone bad these days)?!

    I know a lad that's a commanding officer on an u-boat. He says that they are often on missions monitoring this type of activity and drug smuggling. I'd say the pirates probably got torpedoed!
