Another perigee Moon tonight

That extra big full moon that happened in December is due a repeat tonight, as the Moon comes closest to Earth in its orbit at Full Moon in 2009.

All clouded over here. Very, very bright outside though given we're right in the middle of darkness hours.

didnt see it at its height but the moon has looked marvelously bigger and brighter while i've been waiting for my bus the last 2 mornings.

could someone tell me what was the really bright star\planet was in the skies last week in a westerly(ish) direction at about 40-50deg elevation in the early evenings?

That is the planet Venus.

mis read this thread and thought the perigee moon was on the 13th,

went out and took about 20 photos with my new camera, they were all terribal, so googled how to photo the moon and took this...

looking at it now, its obvious that it was not a full moon, whens the next one
