Was thinking of using them to fly Belfast-London as they seem to be offering the cheapest fares at the moment. What are they like to fly with? Are they pretty much like Ryanair or worse/better? Also, bar paying for luggage, are there any other hidden costs like airport check in or credit card charges? Thanks!

I flew from London to Amsterdam with them, price one way was approx 30 sterling.

I have to say I found the standard to be very high and was very impressed.

It was a few years ago now but I don't remember being stung by any hidden charges.

From my experience with them on the long lost SNN-LGW route a few years ago, I would rate them above Ryanair by a distance, but not quite up to Aer Lingus short haul standards.
On one EZY flight in particular when travelling on crutches, the crew were real helpful and kept the bulkhead seats at the front free for me which was great.

I would actually rate Easyjet above Aer Lingus as well as Ryanair. Flew with them Edinburgh to Milan before Christmas and it was a good flight, no delays and friendly staff.
Would definitely use them more regularly if they flew from Dublin.

No weight restrictions on cabin baggage makes the difference for me.

They are very sound compared to other airlines. I was 5 mins late getting to one of their checkin desks so I wasn't allowed to make the flight. But they were nice about it and said they would put me on the next flight that had an available seat at no extra cost. Try that with Ryanair! Plus I find their staff and crew to be very friendly and witty. You'll often have the pilot cracking a joke mid-flight.

Last time i flew wih them from LGW to Malaga, the crew were doing their inflight announcement and said soemthing along the lines of "We will be selling a range of hot and cold drinks and cold snacks, for people who fancy something hotter, there is always your hostess Lisa who is available in the rear of the aircraft" :D At the end we also get the "Please return to your seats, fasten your seat belts and return lisa to her upright position":)

I like easyjet, they are a nice airline to fly with, much easier to use than ryanair.

Have flown with easyjet loads of times out of Belfast and always find them great, have used them out of other airports too and I would have them as my favourite airline, hate ryanair but they put on offers at times, you just cant resist.

Yeah, the 'jokes' however do seem to be almost mandatory. On one flight we were told that smoking wasn't permitted but that those who were really desperate for a smoke during the flight could do so 'outside the aircraft' :D

Overall I've found them on most occasions to be better than Ryanair but on two flights to Barcelona last year I had serious problems with them, to the extent that our company no longer flies with them on short-haul flights. They are okay, not great, better than Ryanair most of the time.

I've actually found even cheaper flights with BMI from Belfast, and that would be to Heathrow and a free bag each. There's so much more choice when you fly from Belfast, we are getting ripped off for flights down here. I couldn't get over how much cheaper it was to fly Belfast-Heathrow than Dublin-Heathrow with Air Lingus.

You could probably get a flight to London with Ryanair cheaper than it would cost to get to Belfast by car or train. I can't see how there would be much of a saving, if any.

Oh, I wouldn't dream of travelling up to Belfast normally (I'm in Cork!) but I originally hail from the border region and will combine it with a visit home.:) It's just irritating that it is so much cheaper to fly from Belfast (and that's before the €10 departure tax) it's just another example of rip off republic.
