    Hi Guys,
Just a few quick question, sorry if they were asked before.
What is the going rate for solicitors to do up a Will? My wife rang a local one yesterday and he said because it’s the two of us that’s two separate Will’s and he would do it for €180 inc VAT is that right or a little on the rich side?
Also we need to store the deeds of our house as we just recently cleared our mortgage the same solicitors said they will store them for a fee of €25 a year, our bank gave us a leaflet on a company called File Stores who charge €60 for 5years or €100 for 10years has anyone heard anything about this company good are bad?

    Thanks for your help,
    Mark.

Seems very cheap to me to be honest. To do a will properly and with some thought as to tax consequences etc. is important. To get two for that price seems decent.

Why dont you just store them yourself in a safe place? That would be free?? There is no compulsion whatsoever to have them stored professionally. If you are paranoid about them being damaged see how much a fire proof box costs and weigh up the prices.

I think that quote is v cheap also, but no harm in you calling other solicitors if you think it could be got cheaper. That being said, cheapest is not best. Good luck.

Ask you bank manager if they have safe deposit boxes.

Be wary of storing them at home if there is a fire or flood.
