3 Day Week / Jobseekers Benefit

    Would like some help for a friend of mine ......A foreign National been working full time since 2003 .........married 2 kids ( wife on FAS course € 215 p/w )

    Was earning 480 p/w ( 5 days ) and FIS € 56 p/w

    Has now been reduced to 3 day week .

    Wonders if he is more beneficial to sign on for 2 days and lose FIS

    Or work 3 days for € 270 and keep FIS € 56

    Pays € 150 p/w rent .......Can he claim rent supplement


    How much would he get on dole for signing 2 days ?( and working 3 days )

    I think he can sign for 3 days (sat included)

    He should get half the dole. 103 euro i think

    I am going to be in the same boat myself in two weeks my wife gets carers allowance and my daughter gets disabillity allowance and we also get fis will we lose the fis when i sign on thanks for any advice
