On my samsung LCD, beside the PC video input (DVI) there is is an audio input. That's where the 3rd cable goes. It then goes into the LINE OUT of your PC.

I've tried this, and played loads of files, and it shows on my pc that the audio is up everytime someone speaks, but noting coming out of my tv's speakers :(
Was there any special setting you had to do?

Ok, so this is your TV (apparently)...

You can see the PC audio input beside the PC video input (VGA - blue).

You need to use the video input to use the audio input. So the best way around this is to just get a VGA cable and connect the third wire in your post to the pc audio input and to the line in on your PC. That will work.

Looking at the picture (i've not seen it before), it seems if you put your PC input into HDMI port 2 you can use the red/white connections to the right of the VGA input to get sound. Again, using the second cable, attach the red/white wires to the TV and the other end to the line out of the PC.

Another option if you want to use HDMI cable would be to hook the PC up to an external set of speakers and get audio that way.
