It was bound to happen but this is probably the most ridiculous remake yet.
The original, while not exactly a technical masterpiece is one of my favourite horror/exploitation movies. The look of the movie(low budget and grainy),its undercurrent of threat, the mental and physical humiliation and torture and David Hess's performance made it a genre classic so how it could possibly be remade frankly boggles my flippin mind.Whats next,a remake of the Beast in Heat or Fight for your Life.Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Plus one of the chicks from Superbad is in it.

    Anyway

Lol..all you can do is laugh at this stage.

I await the high concept special effect gore and insane levels of bloodshed:rolleyes:

Whats next..Cannibal Holocaust remake complete with CGI turtle and monkey. Its very frustrating.

The trailer is nuts, its not like a teaser at all, its basically the whole movie compressed to a few minutes.
Reckon it will be awful but for anyone that never saw the original and isn't aware of the story and would like to see it...don't look at the trailer as it basically ruins the whole movie.

AFAIK a Cannibal Holocaust remake has been talked about/has been in the pipeline for a number of years.

I don't mind a remake of this. It was fairly crap, the slapstick comedy moments took away any dread/tension the movie had.

Not particularly looking forward to this, but it does have one good thing going for it, and that's Garret Dillahunt.

great soundtrack; I bought the CD from David Hess' site.

Now You're All Alone is brilliant!

Love the film; remember a few of us rented it in 1984 around the time of the nasties scare. We had just started first year in secondary school.

    also recommend
    Hitch-Hike
House On The Edge Of The Park

    for more Hess.

Garret Dillahunt is a great actor alright. Loved him as the psycho Mr. Wolcott in Deadwood. I've seen the original and it's decent but I think that this is the type of film that can do with an update. I'm certainly not against it. Intrigued. I will watch the original again one of these evenings to refresh my memory. Love the song in the trailer so if all the film does is bring some attention to that then success.
