    Hi
Id like to get into the sport, target shooting rather than hunting but im clueless how and where to start. I suppose it would be rifle or pistol dont know really. Ive enjoyed target shooting abroad. My local gun/sports store wasnt much help, just basically was annoyed that i was a newby and handnt a clue, and i dont want to bother a garda so could you guys point me in the right direction. If you are in Meath like myself you could try emailing Wilkinstown target shooting club. I emailed them two weeks ago and have heard nothing from thm yet. If you get in contact with them let me know. I want to start to and want to do it right.

im also looking at getting into traget shooting but am finding it difficult. my choices are the fermoy range or the midlands range but i have no idea how to go about it. the stickys here advise visiting a range for a look first but do i just turn up at the range...i didnt think they would take kindly to visitors...

Visit here http://www.fermoyrifleclub.com/. Theres a link for contact details. Get in touch with Kieran Barry and he'll arrange a time to visit when he's at the range. The range is open Sundays from about 10-2pm. They are a very friendly and helpful bunch and will tell you everything you need to do to get started.

I'm in the same boat here myself, living in eastmeath.Have been to courtlough a few times and enjoyed it shooting .22.Is it just the one range they have there ?
Is this the hightest calibre they do there ?.

What do you do next regarding licence/gun/membership etc. ? Any info appreciated ?
