    Hi folks,

I bought a Buffalo Wireless-G High Speed Broadband Router - 125Mbps (whr-g125) on Wednesday and it's doing my nut in ever since. It's all set up and ready to go i.e. both my PC (cable connection) and my Laptop (wireless connection) recognise that it is there. The problem occurs when I go to browse the internet. I keep getting the "this page cannot be displayed" yadda yadda yadda. Has anyone ever come across this problem before? Here is the result of a command prompt thingy:

    EDIT: I'm with Irish Broadband

Thanks in advance for the replies :)

I presume you're on UPC since you mention a cable connection, in which case you won't be using PPPoE or any other authentication, just DHCP.

Don't worry about the WINS and routing entries in the first post, they only apply to your PC and have no effect in this case.

Give the router an IP manually or enable DHCP so it will get one from the modem if the modem has DHCP. Forget about PPoE.Make sure the cable from the modem goes to the router's "WAN" port too.

Cheers for the replies folks. I've tried the above except the enabling the DCHP - how do I go about that?

Usually there's a basic setup page where the connection type can be chosen, one of the options should be DHCP.

    Right,

Firstly have you got a separate router for broadband or are you just aiming to use the Wireless router on its own??.

Yeah I tried that, then went to set up and still got

"DHCP Server or PPPoE Server not found."

I have a LAN (I think that's what it is called) with Irish Broadband. The aerial is on the roof with the cable running to my PC. I now have that cable hooked up to the buffalo wireless router and in turn have the buffalo hooked up to the PC with the cable that was provided.

Which product from IBB? Some of them use static IPs.

    Breeze 2MB <
    is what I'm on.

Right, it's about ten minutes from being smashed up. It says I've enabled the DCHP but when I'm in the set up I keep getting no response in setting one up. Here's a couple of screenshots:

Breeze uses static IP's, there's no DHCP server to respond to you. You'll need to know this IP, or get it from IBB before you can connect.
