Freeview Box or PVR?

I am about to buy a Dane-Elec So Speaky PVR (link). It is basically a HDD and media player which will also record from the TV. I plan to connect it to my Sky digibox and my TV. It will record what ever input it gets from the Sky digibox, but it doesn't have its own tv decoder inside. I presume that when I program it to record from the TV, it will simply just record whatever channel the Sky digibox is set to.

My question is: Am I better off getting a Freeview box with a HDD in it? As that has a decoder, I can program it to record from whatever channel I want? But, will I be able to store all my media files on it (DivX & XVid movies, MP3 songs, etc) and play them too?

    anyone?

i have looked at this forum to see if this has been asked before, but frankly there are just too many posts and I can't see it when I do a search. Apologies if this has already been discussed.

Your probably better off going for the Humax Foxsat PVR if your looking for FTA. It wont give you personal storage yet, but it does have a LAN port so it will probably come in a future firmware update.
