Where did those shortlists come from? Where they voted on or was it just picked by some dude?

I was surprised to see Reader's Wives in there - they're sh*t but didn't think enough people had heard of them for them to get nominated for worst album. Although the fact that they use the apostrophe incorrectly in their own name says a lot!
