My sister had her reception in the Tullamore Court; very nice venue, good staff, good food.

The Manor is decent. Traffic is a nightmare on a friday generally in abbeyleix which could play havoc with the reception if you were considering a friday wedding.
The Castle in Durrow or the Heritage in Portlaoise are two very good alternatives.

The manor would probably be one the more reasonably priced places around. The ballroom/reception room looks really well and service is fairly good. Haven't been to a function there for over a year but was impressed by it at the time. I wouldn't worry too much about the traffic thing. Where are you getting married? The Clanard Court in Athy might also suit you? Tullamore Court is also quite good or the Dolmen in Carlow.
