Hi All, I have to buy a new motor for the miss's as theres another arrival due soon. Looking for a mid range car - some thing along the lines of a 02 Golf 1.4. will need to be a 4 door and have a bigish boot and no bigger than a 1.5 Any advice would be appreciated...

The Skoda Octavia seems to fit the bill here. It is basically a Golf underneath but is cheaper, roomier and better equipped.
