Ok, just found this little trick out by accident.

I dont know how many of you have lost music files, only to have them on your old mp3 player or such, but no way to take them off.

for example, my sony walkman nw a3000 had a load of music on it that i'd lost off my old machine. i tried to reconnect with sonicstage and got 3 albums! the rest weren't removable for the usual red tape reasons.

so, i removed the omgmusic folder (the files were locked up and unreadable so i couldnt just physically take them), and binned it. then emptied the bin.

then i downloaded a file recovery program and hey presto! all my mp3s were back! sure they were missing names, but if it's your library i'm sure you'll recognise the majority of them and be a ble to rename them yourself over time.

maybe this will help somebody, who knows. said i'd spread the good news anyway.

and i'm sure this isn't illegal considering i bought the music originally.
