Why was it moved from BBC2?

Dunno, but you would not have guessed that they had. The move was not mentioned or alluded to by anyone on the show tonight and there was plenty of smutiness. No doubt the Daily Hate er Mail will have a piece decrying it tomorrow.

Well it was recorded before the move was announced.

Fair enough, makes you wonder if the station controller would have asked things to be less BBC2-ish if the switch had already been decided on. I guess we'll know next series

Great episode. It would be a shame if they had to tone down the jokes in future.

not sure whether there was the usual outcry from the Daily Nazi Sympathiser or not, but last night i finally popped one of the bonus discs of my Sopranos Box Set into the DVD player. One of the extras was an 'edit' of the show (as imagined on MAD TV) without the swearing or the violence or the sex.

"Tune in next week, from 9:00 to 9:03, for The Sopranos - Clean"

In the same way - the selling point of QI isn't just Fry's oh-so-cleverness, it's the constant jokes about him being in the gays and so forth.
Removing those is just pointless; surely even Mail readers know in advance that if a show is moving from BBC Two that it'll be a little bit edgy.

And you know what - they're the same people that wouldn't have turned a hair at Humphry Lyttletons jokes about Lionel Blair on ISIHAC
