Hi, got the Mrs. a DS & Prof. Layton for xmas, and she's hooked!
She finished that game and is playing Mystery PI, which belongs to her nephew, which she also likes.

So any other, puzzle type, games for adults?
Already have the Brain Training 1 & 2 lined up from her sister.

    Also, any recommendations for Sudoku?
She likes the one that's in Brain Training, where you have to write the numbers with the stylus. So if you know of any others, that function the same, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

My better half is herself hooked on the DS and of late is playing a puzzle game called "Polarium" .. its a very simple game which should have an addiction warning .. Doesnt look like much but after a few levels of it you cant put it down !!

"Pictoimage" is also quite good fun ... its a pictionary type game with both single player and multiplayer capabilities ( 8 players i think ) ..
In single player a picture is drawn and you have to guess what it is by writing the answer with the stylus ... In mulitplayer one person draws a picture and the rest have to guess what it is to see who can get it the fastest .. another siple game but great fun

I love Trauma centre as well- you basically do operations on manga style characters but there is a storyline to it as well and it is absolutely addictive. Have it on the wii too and I think i like it slightly better on it- very good for the ds too tho

Abeyance - "simple game but great fun"

That's exactly what I'm looking for!
Gone way passed the stage of trying to figure out "special combo" moves!
    Haven't the patience ;)

    Keep it simple, but entertaining!

Two games that come highly recommended are Hotel Dusk and Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Hotel Dusk is a great graphic adventure with a beautiful art style. It's like playing a 50's noir detective film. Professor Layton is a brilliant puzzle game with a great narrative and probably the best thing on the DS.

Polarium and any picross games are also highly recommended.

    Jewel Quest Expeditions
    Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney games
    Zubo
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords

I loved Prof Layton and loved all the above also, if its any help :)

Zelda and the Phantom Hour Glass has a lot of nice little puzzles.

Soul Bubbles is another great game.

Planet Puzzle League is addictive tetrisesque game.

Advance Wars are good strategy games.

Prof Layton has episode 2 and 3 in the pipeline (think they are already out in Japan, so prob be here before end of year)

Picross DS would be my final choice, but Zelda PHG and Soul Bubbles are brilliant games that adults and kids can get on with. The business;)

CrossworDS. BE CAREFUL, there's a version released with the exact same name, by Deep Silver which has a lousy user interface compared to this version, released by Nintendo.

This has word search, anagram and crosswords. tons and tons, page after page of crosswords. Time bonuses, hints, very easy come and go (save and exit mid game etc)

What makes it a treat is the fluid interface.

Only minus is the occasional US spelling, tire instead of tyre etc.

This lot (never used them), seem to have it for an ok price, along with positive reviews.

Prof Layton is a pain the ass to get your hands on though. I've been on the look out for it in both bricks and mortars stores and online with everywhere sold out. I think the only place I've seen it in stock is on Amazon.co.uk but they're looking for £59.99 for it which I aint going to pay.

Soul Bubbles is fantastic. I loved it (and I'm well into my 30s) and both of my brothers' other halves loved it too (so it has female appeal).

It was labelled as €39.99 in Game, but scanned as €12.99 (!) last Wednesday, so check it out there if you're near one of their shops.

    PicPic, simple but addictive

Ok, based on everyones recommendations, here's what I picked up:

    Polarium - 9.99 in xtravision
    Pictoimage - 12.99 in xtravision
Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, Soul Bubbles & Planet Puzzle League all 20.00 each, after exchange rate, in Game store in N.I.

That'll keep the Wife quite for a few weeks!

Still no recommendations for a Suduko game where you have to wright the number.
Tried a few, but you have to select a number from a list, and I didn't find it as "user friendly" as the one in Brain Training. Desperate for another one as I've done all the ones in Brain Training 5 times over by now!

Thanks everyone for all you help so far. :)

If you got her all of those yer not going to see her for a while ^^

    Sudoku Mania ...
    Platinum Sudoku ...
    Sudoku Gridmaster ...

They are the only Sudoku game i know of saw the gridmaster one in xtra-vision and the others is Game ..

Cant really rec one because i've never played any of them but would imagine they are all more or less the same

    Avoid Sudoku Mania, terrible game.

Get Platinum Sodoku - nice interface, great handwriting recognition, and you get Kakuro with it too (which I actually prefer to Sudoku..)

Theres a game called puzzler that I picked up with my g/f DS stuff for xmas that she enjoys. Has soduku, crosswords and other paper type puzzles on it. It was going fairly cheap too IIRC.
