Hi, me and a friend are planning to book a late deal to a ski resort tomorrow to fly out at weekend. Anyway we are two lads in late 20s, beginners looking for a good all round resort in France/Austria/Andorra area. We would like a resort with good nightlife. We are prepared to pay around 350 each for a week. Any recommendations????
    Cheers

Ive been to a few places and for nightlife and young singles i'd have to say pas de la casa in andorra is the best.Great nightlife, lots of bar crawls organised etc.The skiing wasnt the best when we were there ,a bit slushy for my liking, but for a beginner its a class place thats if the lower slopes arent to icy.I dont think youll get pas at this time of year for that price though..you can try though.good luck

    Hi,

First year i skied we went to Livingo in Italy, bit of a bus transfer from airport, but its cheaper than Austria.
Plus the holiday was so good it negated the bus transfer.

Beginner slopes are good, steep enough to give u an idea of what its like up higher, and there are blue slopes running all the way from the highest part of the range to the bottom. Ski school with pass or just ski pass are cheap compared to Austria.

Great apre ski, loads of pubs, 2 nightclubs, and plenty of other activites, e.g. ski-doos, parties up in the mountain pubs, tobogganing.
Galli's bar was beside where we got our lessons, great spot.
I've seen it cheap on inghams/topflight for this wend

Was there 5 years ago, stayed in hotel Gothard which is right at teh bottom of a hill, youve to walk up to get the gondola.
Actually had a great time but there was a group of 6 lads.It was a bit quiet and we went on 26th December.

Try Soll in Austria. I just got back last Saturday. It was my 3rd time there. Great fun resort. It's a small place with only a few bars but it's great fun and the conditions are fab. Good value too.

Nice to hear the conditions are good - heading out for a week on Feb 28th.
Any advice on restaurants or bars?

Arinsal is great for beginners and it has a good night life too, plenty of bars and clubs to get hammered in if you wish so. There were i went on my first 2 ski holidays so i would recommend it, check out the snow conditions before you leave although i think its a good winter all over.

You'll be going in low season, so alot of places will be quiet.
I was in Soll a no. of years back in mid-Feb, the place was rocking with lots of bars and many of them jammed full. A work colleague went 6 weeks later (late March) and the place was dead in comparison.

    Thanks for your comments.
We have choice of Pas De La Casa or Soll for 329 so we are gonna book Pas in morning. Is it better to buy your ski pack off travel agent or in Andorra?

Just remember the transfer to Pas is about 4/5 hours.

Been to both Pas and Soll, if I was to choose I would pick Soll every time.

I would say in general the resorts in Austria would be better, if i had a choice having been to Andorra and Austria i would choose Soll.

Snow is excellent in both resorts.

Spoke to a friend in Soll this morning and snow is excellent, however reports from Pas De La Casa are excellent also.

I'd narrow it down to the transfer.

Pas De La Casa - 3 to 3.5 hours
    Soll - 1 to 1.5 hours

Otherwise you'll have a ball in both.

Just booked a last minute in St Anton for the last week in January. To say that I'm excited is an understatement.
