OP, you can't put image tags around a url.

    Link is broken anyway:

I saw a fixie rider go by me last night with no lights, I was very disappointed. If they go to the effort of getting a fixie, surely they know enough about cycling to put some lights on.

I mean jaysus, he is actually required to stick some bleedin hipster cysts onto the bike

    Where was this?

I was out the other night with no lights (well no rear light) herself had no batteries in her lights so I gave her mine. She hasn't quite master the art of defensive cycling so better off me with no lights.

I suspect it's because there's a swearword in the image title getting filtered to '*****' by boards....

That's why I used a tinyurl in the img tag.

Passed by him as I was going into Ranelagh from town, at approximately (checks fancy new graphs from edge 305) 6:30 or so. He was going towards town.

I've seen a hell of a lot of ninja cyclists, especially school kids. I actually think selling bikes with reflectors makes people/parents think that little johnny will be visible enough on his way home from school. I'm not saying sell bikes without reflectors of course, but they do seem to offer a false sense of safety. Perhaps bike shops should also be pushing the sale of lights with bikes, especially when selling to younger folk.

I would also put joggers in this category. Driving through dundrum last night and there were plenty of joggers on paths/(cycle paths) and the only visible one I saw was a chap with a light on an armband.

I was with my little sister in Cycleogical at Christmas, getting a bike for her, and they pretty much forced lights on her. I had to confess I'd got her the Mars 3.0 and a Voyager front light before he was stop pushing them. To be fair, he was going to throw them in free, instead he gave her a lock.

The setup wasn't cheap, but to be fair, the advice was good, and at least she will know where to go to get it serviced.
