    Hi All

Got the doolest present every from my girlfriend. 5 days hunting wild boar and deer in poland. i was wondering what to ecpect as im going without any mates . Has anyone ever done this? there are 10 driven shoots and 5 wild shoots. you can shoot male and female boar, male deer but there is a fine if i shoot a cast antelered roe buck. i haven't got a clue what that is. all foxes are game also.

im bringing my 30-06 mauser with a s&b 5-25x56. how do i get to berlin with my firearm?

any help would be cool and ill take lots of pics for you guys too. :)

What a great present, I got a tool box:(. I do a good bit of shooting in Germany and Austria. You basically can't shoot Roe once they've shed their antlers, so they are most likely out of season at that time. If they have Reds then you will most likely be able to take them. Be careful and make sure you know whats allowed and not allowed and what is going to cost you extra. You could very easily find yourself handing over a couple of grand for a big trophy animal.
The 30-06 is perfect but your scope is not suitable for driven shooting, a 1.5-6x42 or a 2.5-10x56 is needed for the lower magnification. You just wont be able to get on a moving wild boar with 5x quick enough.

As for bringing your gun to Berlin, you will need a european firearms passport available from the Gardai and you will need to check with the airline before booking to be sure they will carry your gun. The German side will be fine once you have your firearms passport.

    Have fun.

    can you explain ?

Its when they charge extra for trophy animals. e.g. tusks on a boar.

Look at this company for example
    http://advanced-hunting-solutions.com/last_minute.html
Look at what the price includes and does not include.
The trophy price list is an added cost.

    One without Trophy fees
    http://www.polandhunting.com/hunting_packages.htm

Heres one that only charges for Red\Roe Deer
    http://www.polesie.eu/index.php?module=oferta&lang=en
    http://www.polesie.eu/index.php?module=cennik&lang=en

They are all different so you need to know what exactly you might be paying for.

Please ensure you write a detailed report and take some photos of your trip sure most would love to hear about it
