    Hi all,
I have sky digital in the downstairs living room and want to be able to watch it in the upstairs bedroom also (without paying for multiroom). I've heard of this "magic eye", would I need to run a cable from the living room to the bedroom to use this or is it a wireless device? There is a socket for an aeriel in the upstairs bedroom, not sure if that makes any difference?
Looking for a cheap and easy soloution in these recessionary times, any other options open to me?

    Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

The magic eye allows you to change the sky channel from upstairs, it doesn't transmit the signal to the tv in the bedroom. You'd need to take the output from the sky-box & tv-ariel up to the splitter box in the attic and then distribute back down. You'd most likely need new co-ax cables run in unless you have spares at the outlet? It's a bit of messing, you may need to get someone in to do it for you. Labour and materials should cost less than €100 really.

The magic-eye basically plugs it into the co-ax at the back of your bedroom telly, there's an option on your sky-box that needs to be enabled as far as I remember too. Get who-ever sets up your distribution above to set this up too.

Sorry to hijack the thread but could you tell me if the Magic eye will work with the Lidl FTA system? I seen it today for £14.99 in Argos NI and wasnt too sure if it would work.
    Thanks lads.

I believe the Magic Eye is specifically for Sky boxes. So if your using FTA on a Sky box then it should work. But it will not work with non Sky boxes.

Yes, it works with almost anything but you'll need a Global TVLink Plus with power supply, too.

If Magic eye is not an option and you want FTA (not Sky) would you not be as well off getting another FTA box rather than a Video Sender ?
