i work a 2 cycle shift , i work a cover week once every 8 weeks . can anyone tell me do i have to work over the standard 39 hr week as the last couple of times i have been working 6 days , total of 49 hrs a week

so long as you are "rewarded" by overtime rates of time off in lieu etc also depends on how your contract deals with overtime
