Macbook Pro on tv

    Right can someone please tell exactly what cables i need to hook my Macbook pro(2008) up to my HDTV, i think i might need 2 cables but could someone please help me i cant seem to get my head around the new mini displayport

    Tv conncetions
    • DTV
    • TV
    • AV1
    • AV2
    • AV3
    • COMPONENT
    • RGB
    • HDMI1
    • HDMI2

    and my remote control has a button for simplink

    You'll need an adapter for the mini display port. One of:
    mini --> DVI (which your TV oddly doesn't appear to have)
    mini --> VGA (which your TV oddly doesn't appear to have)

    Your safest bet would be mini --> DVI and then try to get your hands on a DVI --> HDMI adapter.

    I've the 15" and I use miniDisplayport -> DVI and then DVI-HDMI adapter. Quality is fine... just a bit awkward

    DVI came before HDMI. DVI carries video. HDMI carries video and audio (much higher bandwidth). Both are, of course, digital.

    miniDisplayport -> DVI and then DVI-HDMI adapter.
